Petrol Price Cut By 1 Paisa: A Fuel Joke?

Not for decades perhaps has one paise made so much news. That's how much petrol and diesel prices were cut today. After 16 straight days of petrol and diesel price hikes what played out was a near farce - first the announcement on Indian Oil Corporation's website that the cut was a substantial 60 paise per litre, then it turned out the actual difference was just 1 paisa. Indian Oil blamed a technical glitch, but the damage has been done. We're asking tonight, a 1 paise cut, is this a cruel fuel joke?
