Petrol prices slashed by Rs 5
The government on Wednesday night announced further reduction in petrol and diesel prices by Rs 5 and Re 2 a litre, respectively. The consumer price of cooking gas was also reduced by Rs 25 a cylinder. This is line with falling crude prices in the international market. New prices would be effective from mid-night on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said.
