Pilferages force ONGC to beef up security
The pipelines carrying crude oil worth billions of dollars has no security guarding them and pilferages have gone up at ONGC pipelines. In some case ONGC's very own people are involved.In the last couple of months in Gujarat alone, 11 such incidents have been reported. And in Assam, ONGC crude tankers were replaced with water. At a time when the price of crude is peaking, the top management is trying to crack the whip on such loss.
