India Observes Road Safety Week to Make Road Safer
India's roads are a dangerous place with over 1.4 million people dying every year due to accidents. The India Road Safety Week drive (January 11-17), launched by NDTV as part of the Road Safety campaign with Diageo, hopes to draw attention to this serious issue and take some constructive steps to make India's roads safer. At the launch of this initiative, a 7-point agenda on Road Safety was presented to the government. The initiative garnered attention from ministries, concerned traffic police officials, celebrities and citizens of India, who came together to raise awareness around various issues affecting road safety in India today.
