Fitch ratings says it expects the quantum of bad loans in the banking system to rise. While their base case remains that the quantum of bad loans would be near 3.75 per cent, Saswata Guha, Director, Fitch Ratings believes there could be upside risk to that projection. "The standalone ratings of large banks are not expected to be impacted by the increase in bad loans since the capital position of most large banks remains strong," he added.
