Mithun K Chittilappilly, ED of V-Guard Industries, said the net profit in the second quarter was down by 22 per cent to Rs 6.84 crore due to unfavourable market conditions, material cost, the overheads and interest cost. He added that sales rose 37 per cent to Rs 219.07 crore for Q2, while OPM was lower by 3.98 per cent to 6.9 per cent.
