Govt mulling Rs 5/litre petrol price hike
The government is planning to hike petrol prices by up to Rs 5 a litre soon after the Assembly elections in five states are over next week. The government may also announce a steep hike of Rs 3-4 a litre in diesel rates. Sources say that oil ministry is also likely to propose a price hike on cooking gas – LPG.
