Morgan Stanley lowers growth forecast to 5.8%, but India optimistic
Morgan Stanley has warned that India is the worst affected emerging market economy in the Asia PAC region, cutting its growth forecast for the country to below six per cent levels. But Kaushik Basu, India's Chief Economic Advisor, defended the economic situation saying that short terms prospects will be tough but medium to long term prospects are brighter for India.
