Cannes 2022: AR Rahman Calls PM Modi's Message "Perfect," Says "India Has A Lot Of Stories To Tell"

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, Oscar winning singer AR Rahman commented on PM Modi's message, and called it a perfect one as narratives must come from India as well. "Prime Minister Modi's message is a perfect one because narratives have to come from this part of the world. International films have always been about the West mostly. The past 20 years have been changing," said AR Rahman. "India has a lot of stories to tell, the quality of stories and the making has come up really high. It is a good start and I feel that there is much more to do in terms of distribution, sensibilities and being quick with narratives," he added. (Video credit: ANI)
