"Welcome Step": PM Advisory Council Member On Top Court Order On Private Property
Shamika Ravi, member, Economic Advisory Council, called the Supreme Court's order on private property a "very welcome step". "Long-term economic growth is an outcome of the right of private individuals to private property and having a judiciary which protects the rights of the individuals of properties from being expropriated by other individuals as well as the state. The laws have to be such that private property expropriation of individuals must be protected against not only other individuals but by the state as well because the state is a very powerful entity and an important part of the economy," she said.
