The demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 was accompanied by largescale riots in Ayodhya and across the country. In the last 20 years, the temple town has not witnessed any violence and it has been business as usual. The temples continued to depend on local Muslims for Lord Ram's little needs - the flowers offered in his puja and the outfits he wears. But the trust between the two communities has evaporated.
