2G note: Chidambaram says Pranab, PM both called him; govt denies civil war

Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that he has "assured the Prime Minister" that he will not comment for now on the 2G controversy that has engulfed him. Mr Chidambaram also said that both the Prime Minister and Pranab Mukherjee, who are travelling abroad, have called him after a note against him was produced in the Supreme Court. The PM allegedly expressed his support for Mr Chidambaram and asked him to "be patient," says PTI. The Opposition feels differently - it vociferously asked today that Mr Chidambaram resign immediately.
