Ex-Indian ambassador to oman and the netherlands JS Mukul on the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 said "it is definitely a red-letter day, a milestone moment but what's important is that since the inception of G20 in 1999 had an Africa deficit. This had to be redressed. the inclusion of african union addresses or redresses this Africa deficit on a lasting and sustainable scale."
