After Smriti Irani's Amethi Loss, Locals Point To Lack Of Development, Inflation
Congress' Amethi Lok Sabha candidate Kishori Lal Sharma has emerged as a giant slayer by defeating sitting BJP MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes. Ms Irani was dubbed a giant slayer in 2019 after she defeated Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. A Gandhi family loyalist, Mr Sharma attributed his victory to the support he received from the Gandhis and the people of Amethi.
