Bandh paralyses Kolkata
The state of West Bengal was worst hit due to the strike with more than a 100 flights to and from Kolkata being cancelled. Most school and colleges were closed. There was huge police presence in some part of the city where CPM and Trinamool workers came out in protest, shouting slogans.
