Cartoons are integral to democracy, says Dinesh Trivedi
Reacting to the arrest of a Jadavpur University professor in Kolkata for posting a cartoon of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the internet, former Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi today said cartoons are integral to democracy. Trivedi, who had to quit the Union Cabinet after he fell foul of Ms Banerjee for increasing train fare in rail budget and had to eventually resign on her directive, said in Kutch: "I feel cartoons are integral part of healthy democracy."
