Farmer suicide-deaths do not happen on paper, in government statistics. Apparently, there are good reasons why. In January, NDTV brought you the story of a woman-farmer who committed suicide after the Kharif crop dried up, but her family got no help. We revisited the family this week, to find out that just two months later, her 27-year-old son had also hanged to death, after the Rabi crop also failed. Timely help to the family could have perhaps saved his three young children from being orphaned.
