Rahul Gandhi may have been visiting farmers in Maharashtra today, but he was placed centre-stage in Parliament by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who used a series of snappy zingers to combat the young Congress leader. "Yeh sooj-booj ki sarkar hai, suit-boot ki nahin," said the minister, describing his government as one driven by reason and common sense. Last week, Mr Gandhi had coined the phrase "suit-boot ki sarkar" to accuse the government of sacrificing the interests of the poor, especially farmers, to favour corporates.
