India's Coronavirus Cases Cross 48 Lakh, 1,136 New Deaths In A Day | Read
A single-day spike of 92,071 cases has pushed India's coronavirus tally past the 48 lakh mark, the Union Health Ministry data this morning showed. The death count has risen to 79,722 with 1,136 more fatalities in 24 hours. Some 37,80,107 patients have recovered from the infection in the country. India's coronavirus recoveries have witnessed a steep rise - from 50,000 in May to over 36 lakh in September, the Health Ministry said on Sunday, adding that more than 70,000 recoveries have been reported every day. The country has been reporting the highest number of new coronavirus cases in the world with an average of 90,000 cases per day since September first week.
