Hours after Hamas accepted an Egyptian and Qatari-mediated ceasefire proposal that aimed at putting an end to the nearly seven-month-long war in Gaza, Israel commenced its planned military offense by seizing the Gazan side of Rafah. The attack on Rafah comes after the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the ceasefire deal accepted by Hamas for not meeting the country's core demands.
