The Karnataka government is likely to table the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill, 2024. This bill aims to revamp the administration with a multiple-corporation set-up. The opposition, however, sees the existing set-up as their legacy. During the earlier tenure of Siddaramaiah's, a bill was introduced to trifurcate the civic body. ThebBill was passed in the Assembly, but defeated in the Council. The BJP, in 2019, opted for a bureaucratic decentralisation under a single corporation.
