Married Women Discriminated Against: Report Claims Iphone Producer Bias
A Reuters investigation alleged that Foxconn, the company that manufactures iPhones in India excludes married women from jobs at its main iPhone plant near Chennai. The reports suggested the company openly discriminates against married women citing their "greater family responsibilities" compared to unmarried women. The federal labour ministry said the law "clearly stipulates that no discrimination (is) to be made while recruiting men and women workers". Watch The Last Word.
