It's a prestige battle in Barmer, as BJP veteran-turned-rebel Jaswant Singh goes solo. But the BJP is also putting all its weight behind Colonel Sonaram Chowdhury, who a month back had crossed over from the Congress to the BJP. The votes in Barmer are divided on personal loyalties. The constituency has been among the highest voter turnouts in Rajasthan this Lok Sabha election - is this a sympathy vote for Jaswant or anti-incumbency against the UPA? Or a wave in favour of the BJP, that's something to watch out for.
