Prestige Battle Of Political Dynasties In Maharashtra
In Maharashtra, The BJP and its coalition - breakaway factions of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar's NCP - is expected to win at least 22 seats and a maximum of 41 seats in the 48-seat state, according to Exit Polls. But as NDTV's Radhika Ramaswamy reports, the state this year is rather unpredictable because two of the state's biggest political dynasties split midway through 2023 and are now in opposite factions. Uncle Sharad Pawar's NCP is with INDIA Bloc, while nephew Ajit Pawar's NCP is in NDA. And a leader from possibly one of the most impactful dynasties in the state, Uddhav Thackrey's Shiv Sena was broken when CM Eknath Shinde left with a band of rebels and joined the NDA. And all the divided parties accuse the other of being fake, while claiming the 'original' tag on their own, despite court and Election Commission rulings.
The countdown to Verdict 2024 has begun. After a 44-day Lok Sabha election in which 64 crore people across India voted in seven rounds, the votes will be counted today and results will be announced.
