Rupee's Free-Fall Despite RBI Intervention

"Modi came to power arguing for a stronger rupee, but delivered one of the weakest rupees in decades. Rupee fell by 21 in last 8 years compared to 14 in the whole decade of Dr Manmohan Singh. India's current account deficit this year is projected to be one of the lowest amongst all countries or all emerging and developing markets. We should not be overconfident that we have ridden out the storm," Amitabh Dubey, Congress member and policy analyst, said.
