An Army jawan was beaten to death in Meerut after he tried to rescue a girl from harassment. Vedmitra Chaudhury, 35, a Lance Naik in 416 Engineering Brigade, had gone to get milk from a booth on Rohta Road in Hardevnagar on Thursday where he saw some men teasing the daughter of the shop owner.
