Some are calling it the new gold rush in the US, many in Europe too are excited about it, but what is fracking? This method of extracting shale gas trapped underneath the earth surface comes with its share of controversy. In India, energy companies have been exploring this as an option; but with possible environmental damages and a looming water crisis, India will do well to consider all sides of the fracking debate.
