In a week when headlines have been filled with stories of Indians who have been deported from the UAE just before they were going to join the war alongside ISIS has come a new twist in the tale. In an affidavit in the Delhi High Court, the government has said that the opposite is not acceptable as well. The government has explained why it stopped a Shia delegation that was to go to Iraq to take a position against the ISIS. The affidavit argues, "allowing any sect to take part in the conflict in Iraq/Syria...could directly result in sectarian conflict within India".
