Time to legalise betting in sports?
Hour after hour, day after day, the media has been squarely focused on the IPL fiasco. The buzzwords for days have been spot-fixing and betting. Quite often, the two terms have been used synonymously, despite the fact that the nature of the crime couldn't be more different. Betting is perhaps the worst-kept secret in India. Lakhs of people do it. Sometimes, as in the case of horse racing, it is legal. In other cases, like in cricket, it is not. On The Buck Stops Here, we debate: should betting in sports be made legal?
