Uttarakhand: Heavy rain hits rescue operations, 6,500 still stranded
Heavy rain since last night has hit rescue operation in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand where nearly 6500 people still remain stranded. Choppers are unable to take off due to bad weather; many of those who were rescued by the Army earlier are unable to leave the state as landslides have blocked highways. According to the Met department, the weather is unlikely to improve at least till the next three days.
