The panchayat or rural polls in West Bengal are due to be held by June. But the matter is in court and there are no poll dates on the horizon. In the meantime, the Saradha bubble has burst, leaving lakhs and lakhs of people, mostly in rural Bengal, in dire straits. Many say they had trusted Saradha because the Trinamool and even the government seemed to be backing it. They are now saying the Saradha collapse will hit Trinamool's fortunes in the polls though the leadership is still not turning a hair.
