Won't act against unruly MPs: Speaker Meira Kumar to NDTV
Lack of functioning of the Lok Sabha has come in for intense criticism, as session after session is wasted by adjournments, walkouts and disruptions. But in a rare interview, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar, told NDTV that she will not act against unruly members of Parliament. Despite questions being raised on why she can't get tough, Ms Kumar says she won't use laws that allow her to throw such MPs out because it will create ugly scenes.
