Are Ayurvedic Doctors Equal To Surgeons?

Ayurveda had a very wide surgical tradition. All the necessary surgeries were done in Ayurveda. Ayurvedic surgeries are performed on the eyes, nose, throat, and ear. The techniques of removing hemorrhoids in Ayurveda has been widely acknowledged today and is a superior tradition. It is even followed by allopathic hospitals. We are trying to revitalize surgical traditions that are not being used. Major surgeries are not included.

We are not against Ayurveda. Our objection is that don't poach onto our system. See the gamut of surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries are the invention of modern medicine, even the anesthesia. This will create more damage to Ayurveda. We just want the system to be developed. More R&D should be done. Mixopathy will damage Ayurveda.

Ayurveda Vs Allopathy: Government Order Sparks Debate

After farmers, now doctors have given a nationwide call for a strike on December 11, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. They are opposing the government's move to allow future ayurvedic postgraduate students to carry out 58 surgeries independently. The Indian Medical Association has said this will legitimise "mixopathy" of medical education and practice. Will this move ensure wider healthcare access to people in a country where doctor to patient ratio is way below what the World Health Organisation recommends, or will this move cause India's fall from grace as a global leader in the medical field?
