Hit-And-Run Horror: How To Crack Down On Drunk Driving?
In yet another case of drunk driving and hit-and-run in the national capital, a 21-year-old on his way back from a party mowed down three people. Police said Rishabh - a resident of west Delhi's Janakpuri - was driving his father's Honda City car at a speed of over 100 kmph and hit three persons over a 1.5 km stretch before he was stopped and caught. Two died while another is battling for his life. This is another in a series of deaths due to drunk driving in New Delhi. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's proposed new Road Safety Bill failed to get passed during the last session of Parliament. How can this be tackled before more lives are lost?
