Today, Prime Minister Modi referred to two of our greatest military leaders - Field Marshal Cariappa and General Thimayya - in an election rally in Karnataka. But the references were all confused. The Congress responded and came up with even more gaffes. It seems clear, and ask any military veteran this, that our politicians usually don't care about our military history but come election season, military lore comes up all the time.
