The Bombay High Court today stayed a very controversial circular by the Maharashtra government on when people could be booked for sedition. Ironically, the Maharashtra government circular was based on an earlier court order protecting people from being slapped with unfair sedition cases, but it seems that the order of the court was mistranslated and a wrong advisory was set out by the government to the state police.
