The NEET impersonation racket for medical admission in Tamil Nadu has sparked outrage. Six first year medicos have been arrested for hiring proxies to take the medical entrance test. The Madras High Court has directed cross verification of all 4,250 medicos who joined MBBS this year in the state, using their fingerprints obtained before the test. Investigators say fraudulent students had paid up to Rs 25 lakh to hire proxies. The issue has exposed several loopholes in the system. NDTV spoke to medicos, parents and activists who say the government ought to crackdown and fix the system before public lose confidence.
