On NDTV, Kapil Sibal who is one of the five ministers on the drafting committee for the Lokpal Bill, answers viewers' questions about the wide range of differences between the government and civil society activists led by Anna Hazare. Mr Sibal said that the two sides have agreed on as many as 36 of 40 features of the Bill. Mr Sibal was also emphatic that reports that two drafts of the Bill - one each from ministers and activists - will be sent to the Cabinet for review are incorrect. Instead, Mr Sibal said, the version sent will include the points of divergence between Team Anna and the ministers on the Drafting Committee. Mr Sibal also said that in his opinion, the Lokpal Bill should not apply to the Prime Minister's Office and that credible allegations of corruption against the PM should be investigated after the PM has completed his or her term.
Defending the government's treatment of Baba Ramdev, Mr Sibal said he does not regret either going to the airport to meet the yoga icon when he landed in Delhi or the crackdown on the massive Ramdev-led sit-in protest a few days later. "We have exposed him," said the minister.
