West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he was "drenched in the blood for people" in reference to his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister when the 2002 riots took place. "People who lay down their lives for the country, they should be respected. Yesterday, you called Rajiv Gandhi corrupted Prime Minister. Today you are calling me 'tolabaz' (extortionist). If I am a tolabaaz, what are you? What are you? Your entire body - from head to feet - is drenched in the blood of people. Only riots, only riots and only riots,"Ms Banerjee said at a rally in Bishnupur, 130 km from Kolkata.
