The central government has rolled out an ambitious scheme called PM-eBUS Sewa. The scheme will enable the roll-out of 10,000 e-buses in 169 cities augmenting clean public transportation in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Indian cities need 1,50,000 buses which is currently 30,000 to 35,000. The goal is to achieve 60 buses per lakh of population. Is this enough and where does the funding come from?
