PM expected to pacify SEZ protests
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive in Goa on Thursday for a two-day visit. His visit comes amid an anti-SEZ agitation that threatens to spoil the New Year celebrations in Goa.While the Prime Minister is there to launch broadband services linking the capital Panjim to rest of the Talukas, there is speculation that he will try to end the stalemate between the state government and an anti-SEZ body, Goa's Movement Against SEZs.
