PM Modi Bereaved, Mother Heeraben Dies At 100
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Heeraben Modi, died at 100 today. She lived with PM Modi's younger brother, Pankaj Modi, at a village called Raysan near Gujarat's Gandhinagar. PM Modi would regularly visit Raysan and spend time with his mother during his Gujarat visits. In June this year, PM Modi wrote a blog on her birthday, saying his mother shaped his mind, personality and self-confidence; hours after his mother's death, PM Modi via video conference flagged off the Vande Bharat Express, connecting Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, and launched several other development projects worth Rs 7,800 crore in West Bengal; cricketer Rishabh Pant's Mercedes SUV hit a pole after ramming a road divider this morning, eyewitnesses said. At the accident site, several rows of metal obstacles used to demarcate the road are seen mangled.
