Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from Indian Diaspora members as he arrived in Papua New Guinea on May 21. "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" chants reverberated loud outside his hotel in Port Moresby. Upon his arrival, PM Modi interacted with Indian Diaspora members and didn't shy away from clicking pictures with them. Many children accompanied by their parents also waved at PM Modi amid enthusiasm and were seen holding National Flags. Notably, Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Papua New Guinea. PM Modi is visiting Papua New Guinea for the FIPIC Summit which will see participation from leaders of 14 countries.
