"PM Modi Has Widened Ambit Of India-US Ties": BJP Leader Smriti Irani

Senior BJP leader Smriti Irani, while talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US, said, "Everybody looked at the Indo-American relationship only from the perspective of defence, technology, equipment or from a nuclear perspective. PM Modi has widened that ambit, he has brought in healthcare, renewable energy, climate goals, a very caring and economical way of looking at the relationship. These are the facets which are very unique to his participation with his US counterpart." She also talked about the Indian community in the US and said, "One has to recognise, Indian community in the US makes up for 3% of their population and 6% of their GDP, which means we, as a community, have a significant impact on not only US' economy but also their politics."
