Russian President Vladimir Putin is in New Delhi on a two-day visit, the focus of which is the possible inking of a $5 billion deal for to procure Moscow's most advanced air defence system, the S-400 Triumf, despite a risk of US sanctions against countries buying Russian defence equipment. After being greeted by Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj at the airport, Mr Putin was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a warm hug at his residence before the two sat down for a private meeting, followed by dinner.
