PM seeks security of sea lanes
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that India's initiative to forge working cooperation among navies of the Indian Ocean region is of 'paramount importance'. He said that the move will prove beneficial in tackling threats of terrorism from the seas. He said high level of trade and economic growth was being witnessed in the region, which dictated the need to ensure safety and security of the sea-lanes.
