Amid concerns around the medical entrance exam NEET for admission into 700 medical colleges across the country, the Supreme Court today came down heavily on the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the nationwide exam. The Supreme Court - while hearing a batch of petitions over the alleged irregularities in the exam - said it expects a "timely action" from the NTA and that the agency must ensure that all candidates are treated fairly. Several questions are being raised around NEET with the matter taking a political turn as well. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has questioned the Prime minister's silence over the matter and his party has demanded a judicial probe, while the AAP today held a protest and asked for a retest. So what is the future of NEET and NTA?
