Political war over India's right to food
President Mukherjee has given his go-ahead to the food security ordinance but it still has to be approved by both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha within six weeks of Parliament's next sitting. Otherwise, the ordinance concerned lapses and has to be promulgated again. The government has to make the next move but its options are limited.
