Politicians fight over Marathi language
The battle for the Marathi vote has taken a literary - even comical - turn. From battling it out on the streets, both the Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are now vying for ownership of the Marathi language. Shiv Sainiks hope to steal a march over rival MNS in a procession to mark Marathi Bhasha Divas. But it's more than a sudden affection for the language or the late poet V W Shirwadkar.
