Politics, not security fears, behind Rushdie's no-show?
Salman Rushdie's attempt to join this year's Jaipur Literature Festival through a video link is now uncertain. Sources tell NDTV that even the final panel with Salman Rushdie joining on a video link may not get the necessary legal permissions. Six complaints have been filed in three cities - Jaipur, Ajmer and Hyderabad - against writers who read from The Satanic Verses and organiser Sanjoy Roy, by people including members of the BJP and the Congress.
